Letter writing

Time for Bryants family and friends to start writing positive and encouraging letters!! Family members...in the comment section select a day of the week that you will be writing so that we all cover a different day of the week. Read the letter from the DI. Please feel free to comment and talk to each other. Feel respond to the letters... parents will read them. After Bryant graduates from boot camp and comes home.. he will be able to read your comments. For now the best way to send words to him is by snail mail.

Hi Bryant!
It's Nancy Howard. It's the 4th of July. I made cookies shaped like stars. I found some food coloring pens and I wrote things on the cookies such as: "Life...Liberty...Pursuit of Happiness.....One Nation Under God...Home of the Brave.....Land of the Free.
I made several cookies for our guest today, so I had lots of time to reflect on what today really means.
You know, I really appreciate my freedom - especially being a woman. I am not required to always have a male escort. I am not required to be covered from head to toe in dark material. Men on the street don't have the right to criticize or attack me out in public. I am free to worship God and talk about God (most places).
I hope you know I am sincere, when I say, thank you for making this choice you have made Bryant. It's because people like you are willing to take such a stand and become an expert in our country's protection that I enjoy the many freedoms that I do.
There is a quote, that has really provoked me into greater heights of appreciation: "For those who have fought for it, freedom has a flavor the protected will never know."
I think of you often Bryant. I can still see your smile in my mind. Your smile is powerful. It makes me forget anything that could be troubling me at the moment and just feel blessed that I know you. The position you are in, training to be a marine, adds to that blessing.
I pray God's wisdom and strength for you - daily and frequently!
With Love & Prayers
Nancy Howard
